Meet the team

Johnny Cassett

Owner/ Manager, State Inspector

Johnny is the backbone of A.C. Tire. When he is not working with customers or inspecting cars, he is maintaining the equipment  and advising the technicians.

Johnny began working on cars before he could drive them.  He has worked as an auto-body technician (including restoring several classic cars) and alignment specialist.

When he has time, Johnny enjoys sailing, carpentry, cooking and strategy games.

Joshua White

Lead Technician

Joshua began his career with A.C. Tire when he was a teenager, washing cars. Since then, he has worked in the home improvement field and as a HVAC technician. His expertise covers electrical/ wiring problems, plumbing, and carpentry, in addition to automotive work. He returned to A.C. Tire as a technician in 2014.

When Josh is not at work, he can usually be found working on his farm, where he lives with his wife, Liz, their two sons, and a growing collection of animals.

John Cassett

Owner/ Finances, State Inspector

John is the heart and soul of A.C. Tire. As the co-owner with Johnny, his son, he worked as the office manager, state inspector, and general “do-it-all” master before he retired in 2012 to spend more time with his wife of 49 years, Violet.

He started his automotive career in 1978 with his own service station, Lakeside Auto Care, (back when they pumped your gas and checked your oil) and managed a number of company-owned Tire Service Centers.

If you’re lucky, you can catch John at the shop, checking on things and making sure we’re taking care of his “baby.”

Randy Reed

Technician

Randy joined A.C. Tire in the fall of 2015. He is a 2015 graduate of Patrick Henry High. He loves hot rods and motorcycles, and is becoming skilled with alignments and brake repairs.

Randy played ball for 11 years and wrestled for 5 years. He enjoys skate boarding with friends. According to a reliable source, he loves cheeseburgers and will put honey mustard on any food he eats.

Michael Hampton

Technician

Michael came to A.C. Tire during the summer of 2015. He is senior at Patrick Henry High. He has taken a variety of mechanical classes at Patrick Henry.

Michael moved to Virginia from Texas in 2013. He spends his rare free time (between school and multiple part time jobs)working on his car. He likes dogs and is a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan.

Barbara Cassett

Office Manager

Barbara is Johnny’s wife and the self-proclaimed “Swiss Army Knife” for A.C. Tire. She fills the drink and vending machines, cleans the office, and is the shop “go-fer.” She is also the IT department, doing whatever needs doing regarding the computers.

Before joining Johnny at A.C. Tire, Barbara was a librarian for Hanover County Schools for 22 years. Her research skills come in handy when an obscure part is needed for a repair.

When she is isn’t helping Johnny at the shop, she is usually transporting their two teenagers somewhere. While waiting for them, she often reads or crochets.
